Subsea Well Access

Electro-Hydraulic Distribution Module (EHDM)

4Subsea’s Electro-Hydraulic Distribution Module (EHDM) is a field-proven, integrated subsea XT control system that streamlines installation, workover and P&A operations. Designed as a modular alternative to traditional IWOCS systems, it enables safer, simpler and more cost-effective well access. Installed subsea and connected via flying leads, EHDM eliminates the need for large topside spreads, enables the use of a smaller umbilical, reducing rig handling complexity and HSE exposure.

The system supports full multi-vendor XT compatibility and control fluid flexibility, and ensures real-time monitoring and diagnostics throughout operations. With fast XT actuation and continuous SCM communication even during BOP disconnection, EHDM optimises ROV operations and reduces operational risk. Its compact design and field proven readiness make it a smart solution for efficient and versatile subsea well intervention.

4WARD – Well Access Remote Distribution System

4WARD is 4Subsea’s next-generation subsea XT control solution, designed to eliminate the limitations of traditional IWOCS systems. By relocating topside equipment to the seabed, 4WARD removes the need for an open-water umbilical, reduces Red Zone activity, and enables a safer and more flexible approach to XT well access operations.

Available in both umbilical and umbilical-less configurations, 4WARD supports real-time monitoring, diagnostics and multi-vendor XT compatibility. Integrated subsea batteries and high-speed acoustic communication ensure redundancy and operational independence. With a minimal footprint and simplified deployment, 4WARD represents the future of efficient XT well access operations.

WIMS – Real-Time Well Information Management

4Subsea’s Well Information Management System (WIMS) is a secure, centralised data platform that enables real-time insight and decision-making throughout well operations. WIMS integrates data from rig sensors, third-party vendors and operational systems into a single interface—accessible both offshore and onshore—to support efficient collaboration across teams.

By collecting, trending and storing key operational data, WIMS empowers operators to diagnose issues in real time, reduce response times, and build a historical data set for improved planning and execution. The system is fully customisable, supporting industry-standard protocols and tailored interfaces, and has proven instrumental in ensuring operational continuity—even during high-pressure well incidents. WIMS enables faster, safer and more informed well operations, setting a new standard for digital well control.

Subsea Payload Skid

Electrification is a growing trend for offshore oil, gas, and CCUS operations; driven by the need to cut costs, reduce complexity and lower carbon impact. 4Subsea’s Subsea Payload Skid is designed to support this shift by enabling the electrification of subsea infrastructures with a clean energy source using ocean-powered systems.

Our system dynamically simulates real world load scenarios and can incorporate subsea HPU’s, actuator components and more, validating system performance and readiness in line with operator requirements and project objectives.

Whether simulating operations of typical XT’s, SCSI systems, or other subsea assets, 4Subsea’s Subsea Payload Skid offers a reliable, cost-effective test platform. It supports and enables future clean energy focused subsea tie backs and CCS developments, as well as umbilical degradation scenarios.

This example unit features key components engineered to meet customer requirements:

  • High-Flow Subsea Pump (sHPU)
  • Low-Flow Subsea Pump (sHPU)
  • Electric Actuator
  • Acoustic Modem

4Subsea can deliver a flexible solution that simulates load requirements and allows operators to integrate additional technologies as needed.

Whether part of an offshore electrification initiative or integrated into a conventional rig or vessel-based operation. Our 4WARD subsea workover system (SWOCS) represents the next step towards umbilical-less XT operations.
